In the swirl of emotions and questions every parent has after they learn their child has autism, it’s easy to feel lost.
Choosing the right program can feel overwhelming. It’s that exact experience that led parents to create REED Academy for their own children.
Research shows that early intervention significantly impacts development for a child with autism.
The services offered through our early intervention program improve the capabilities of individuals from diagnosis through age three. As with all REED services, we use the approach of applied behavior analysis (ABA)—widely recognized as an effective treatment for autism spectrum disorders by the U.S. Surgeon General, the American Academy of Pediatrics and the National Institute of Mental Health.
At our early intervention clinic in Oakland, New Jersey, small faces and tiny voices fill a space that is nurturing and fun as our highly trained instructors and clinicians work one-on-one with our littlest learners. Our early intervention services—also offered at home—are designed to meet the unique needs of individuals and their families by decreasing behavioral challenges, increasing language and communication skills, and developing play, social and learning readiness skills.
At REED, we recognize the importance of an education process that supports not just the student but the whole family. We offer intensive ABA training for parents and caregivers so that they can reinforce the strategies and skills their children learn. Technology plays a critical role in our educational services, making it easy to document even the most minute progress and share it with parents and therapists.
REED’s early intervention program gives children and parents a head start on their unique journey, giving them opportunities to learn, grow and succeed to the best of their ability, as every child deserves to enjoy a productive, independent, happy life.
